Heacham Manor Hotel has applied for planning permission to build four padel courts at its premises off Hunstanton Road.

A clubhouse and bar would also be built from shipping containers.

Hotel bosses said in a planning statement that there is growing demand for courts, while the Lawn Tennis Association describes padel as "the fastest-growing sport in the world" - but there are currently just four padel centres in Norfolk.

The nearest to Heacham is situated 20 miles away in Fakenham.

A revamp of the Racecourse Castle Carvery in Salhouse Road, Sprowston, has been given the green light.

The pub and restaurant is popular with locals and has been visited by stars including footballer Onel Hernández.........
