Melissa Palmer and her partner, Kurtis Tipping, were walking home along Richmond Road, New Costessey, just after midnight on Wednesday when they passed a car with a wing mirror that had been smashed and "twisted right off".

A fence outside a nearby property had been knocked down with what looked like "the force of a person".
