Prison plans to expand with space for hundreds of extra inmates
The plans lodged with Breckland Council seek permission to demolish parts of HMP Wayland in Griston and build a four-storey house block.
The application also includes a new education building, kitchen and sports pitch for inmates as part of the extension and refurbishment of the prison.
The plans would increase capacity from 1,000 to 1,250 at a time when the prison is on the verge of overflowing.
