Former council HQ to be demolished despite strong local opposition

It was agreed at a meeting of South Norfolk Council's planning committee that South Norfolk House in Long Stratton could be shut down.

The building was previously home to the council's offices, but has sat empty for several years following its relocation to the Horizon Centre in Broadland Business Park.

The proposals have been resisted by local people, who believe that South Norfolk House should instead be repurposed for use by the community.
