Council STILL spending £70k a year on empty office
Broadland Council has been attempting to sell off Thorpe Lodge, a vast site that includes a nuclear bunker and Grade-II listed stately home, for more than two years.
The building has been vacant since the authority moved in with South Norfolk Council at the Horizon Centre at Broadland Business Park in 2023.
While the council gears up for a fresh attempt at advertising the site, it is still spending around £70,000 a year on utility costs, insurance and maintenance.
