Ali's News, in London Street, was granted an alcohol licence by Norwich City Council at a meeting this week.

The licensing committee at City Hall heard concerns from a local business owner who said the area had been plagued with anti-social behaviour caused by drug-taking and drinking.

David Cassidy, who runs Ali's News, said he "didn't want to add fuel to the fire" and agreed to reduce the hours he planned to sell alcohol.
