Jean Stella Bussey, aged 84, of Woodland Rise, died on April 19 this year at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital (N&N) following an unwitnessed fall two days earlier.

An inquest into her death was heard by area coroner Johanna Thompson at Norfolk Coroner’s Court this week.

Mrs Bussey’s family paid tribute via a statement to the court, describing her as a determined and caring person who valued her independence and rarely asked for help.

They said: “She was an independent-minded person who would only ask for help as a last resort and even then, reluctantly.

“She was physically active and never used a mobility aid. She was a keen gardener and involved herself with various tasks around the home.

“She was always supportive of others, dealing with sadness and hardships in their lives.”
