Michael Regan was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital when he was discovered lying on his driveway during the early hours of January 11 this year.

An inquest into the 87-year-old's death heard that he went outside to check the oil levels at his home in Quidenham, near Attleborough.

Speaking to Norfolk Coroner’s Court, his wife Catherine said: “Unbeknownst to me, he went outside to check the oil level in the tank with a view to reordering.
