Archaeological dig of Roman town welcomes bumper visitor numbers

Volunteers at the Caistor Roman Project (CRP) have been scouring ditches close to the grounds of Caistor Hall Hotel in Caistor St Edmund, near Norwich.

Over the weekend, the project held one of the first of its open days which allowed the public to see the discoveries made and learn more about the settlement's rich history.

On Saturday, August 23 almost 200 visitors made their way on site between 10am and 3pm.
