'His whole world shrunk' - family describe devastating impact of asbestosis
Keith Hutson, of Charmbeck Park in Haveringland, near Aylsham, died at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital on October 19 last year.
The 86-year-old retired carpenter had been diagnosed with the disease after suffering with a cough and difficulty in catching his breath.
At an inquest into his death at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, his children, Joanne Davison and Graham Hutson, opened up about the devastation his diagnosis caused to their family.

Mrs Davison said: “Our dad lived a very happy, healthy life until he was diagnosed with asbestosis.
“When he was diagnosed, it felt as if his whole world had suddenly shrunk.
“The life he was used to living gradually became more and more difficult as he struggled to complete daily tasks because he was struggling for breath.
“This was physically debilitating and also hit him hard on a psychological level.”
