Champion rider dies after being trodden on by 'spooked' horse
Margaret Davies, known as Maggie, died in hospital last month, two-and-a-half weeks after the accident involving Benny, her thoroughbred horse.
An inquest into her death heard the 80-year-old had been leading the bay-coloured Connemara to its paddock on August 8 when the horse became spooked.
It then jolted sideways, knocking Mrs Davies to the ground, before accidentally standing on her.
She was admitted to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with injuries to her sternum and a fractured clavicle, but developed pneumonia while receiving treatment and died on August 24.

The court heard that Mrs Davies devoted her entire adult life to equestrianism, competing, breeding and training horses to a high level.
