7 things we learned from NHS trust's improved CQC result

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspected community and crisis services provided by the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust earlier this year.

And while it found some areas of concerns remain, it rated community services as "good" and highlighted some areas of improvement in crisis care.

Trust bosses have hailed the results as the best in the past decade and insisted it will not be complacent.

But campaigners remain cautious.

Here are just some of the key takeaways from the inspections, which were carried out in March.

During the Covid pandemic, the trust pioneered a crisis line, which remains available via 111 option 2.

It has since been rolled out nationally and has become a 24-hour service.

However, the inspection found that patients are waiting an average of six minutes for these calls to be answered - almost two minutes slower than the national average.

Another concern highlighted in the report was the way the trust responds to those most urgently in need of referral.
