Villagers fight to save historic Broads pub from conversion into housing
Plans submitted to Broadland District Council would see the former Ship Inn in South Walsham converted into a four-bedroom home - a proposal some locals have branded an “abomination.”
The pub, which dates back to the 1700s, has been closed since 2020.
Despite this, locals have been working to raise funds to buy, refurbish and reopen it as a community-run venue.
