More than 1,000 people have signed a petition to stop 70 houses being built on the land between the Recreation Ground and Meadow Park in Gorleston.

Organiser Jess Rodgers said she was happy with the support for the campaign.

"I'm really surprised by how many people have signed it. I was expecting a few hundred, tops," she said.
