The Winter Gardens, on Marine Parade in Great Yarmouth, closed in 2008 over safety fears and since then the Grade II listed Victorian venue has fallen into dereliction and disrepair.

But workers have now moved onto the site and started the long-awaited £19m regeneration. They have been busy with initial preparation work, installing hoardings – marking the first steps in bringing the building back to life.

Last month, the council appointed VINCI Building as the main contractor for the project and said that work would soon begin on cleaning the existing ironwork.
