Rats and uncollected rubbish plague ‘ignored’ tenants of town apartment block
People living in Parkview House, on Southtown Road in Great Yarmouth, say they have been promised repeated clean-ups and pest control measures by Orbit Housing, which manages the site - but that little has changed.
Jessica Penn, 32, who has lived in the block for five years, said tenants are charged £116.76 every month in service fees, which are supposed to include cleaning of the bin storage area.
“It has never been cleaned in the five years I’ve lived here,” she said.

“We were promised by Orbit that it would be jet-washed but that hasn’t happened. It’s disgusting in here. We want the vermin gone.”
Ms Penn said the bin area is so neglected that rubbish collects beneath the large communal bins, attracting rats and maggots.
“It gets worse and worse,” she said. “We’re promised all the things in the world, but it never gets sorted.”
