The Smokehouse Bar and Grill started operating at the Grange Hotel in Ormesby in summer 2019.

But the landlords only applied for a retrospective planning permission for the change of use in October last year.

They said the "key change" at the site was from a hotel restaurant to a restaurant serving food and drink to the general public.
