Football club forced to leave village and play seven miles away after bitter row
Hemsby FC has used the council-owned Waters Lane Playing Field for more than a decade - but the club has now said it will be playing its homes games at "new, welcoming home venues" for the 2026-27 season.
The move follows a dispute with Hemsby Parish Council over pitch fees.

Relations between the two parties began to fray after a fire tore through the Waters Lane pavilion in November last year, leaving the club unable to use its home changing rooms, storage and facilities for several months.
The council initially invoiced the club for its full £800 rent despite the closure, before reducing the charge to £400.
The club has described this as a hard-won concession after "extensive negotiations", but the council maintains the club was never actually charged for the period the pavilion was shut, and that the £400 covered a different,........
