New homes could be built in Norfolk town at cost of £1.8m

Norfolk County Council is next week expected to agree to make £1.8m available for six apartments and three bungalows in North Walsham.

The Conservative-controlled council's cabinet is ready to make the money available because it needs to provide more homes for people who need extra support to live independently.

The homes, due to be built in Yarmouth Road, would be for people with learning disabilities, autism and physical disabilities, specially designed to meet their needs.

Officers are recommending that the council's cabinet agrees to provide £1.8m to not-for-profit social housing provider Golden Lane Housing to develop the homes.
