Fears solar panel surge could contribute to farm food production dropping by a third
Mid Norfolk MP George Freeman warned agriculture is at a tipping point due to government targets for housing, infrastructure and renewable energy, which could see up to a quarter of farmed land disappear over the next 25 years.

A study for the cross-party All-Party Parliamentary Group on Science and Technology in Agriculture, which Mr Freeman chairs, found that without urgent reforms to farming and land-use policies to enhance yields, domestic food production could decline by 32pc by 2050.
