Liberal Democrat county councillor David Sayers urged Norfolk County Council to bring in a '20's Plenty' initiative - a blanket reduction of speed limits in urban areas.

Mr Sayers, who represents Gaywood North and Central in King's Lynn, made the call at a meeting of the council's Conservative-controlled cabinet.

He said: "Recent reports indicate that 20mph speed limits have contributed to a significant reduction in car insurance premiums, with insurers noting fewer claims in areas where these zones are implemented.
