The Fenland SOIL Conference 2025 in Ely attracted around 180 delegates, including more than 80 farmers as well as academics, environmental groups, national retailers and policymakers.

It was opened by Defra minister Daniel Zeichner, who discussed the government’s proposals for a new "land use framework" and the transition to more sustainable agricultural practices.
