Acoustic sensors will listen out for bees in 'ground-breaking' crop research trial
British Sugar has launched a two-year project in collaboration with York-based agri-tech company AgriSound to monitor and understand how pollinators behave in fields where sugar beet is part of the crop rotation.
It will involve installing 27 acoustic sensors on a large farming estate in Gimingham - recording "real-time biodiversity data, and providing critical insights into the health of vital pollinator populations".
