'Ghost pond' project revives lost wildlife - and digs up relics from the 1950s
Landowners within the Wensum Farmers cluster group have been excavating a series of old ponds to expose the original seed bank and let them refill with water, plants and aquatic wildlife.
There are countless ghost ponds across Norfolk, many of which are former marl pits or livestock watering holes which were infilled for arable land reclamation in the 1940s and 50s.
