Prison assaults fall after inmates learn philosophy from the ancient Greeks
Staff at HMP Wayland, near Watton, have been teaching prisoners how to lead more peaceful and virtuous lives while they are behind bars.
Attacks against staff and other inmates have fallen since the initiative began, according to a report from the jail's Independent Monitoring Board (IMB).
"Assaults on staff and on other prisoners have been considerably reduced during the reporting year, continuing the trend reported in our previous report," it says.
