West Norfolk Council drew up proposals to regenerate Devil's Alley, which runs off the waterfront in King's Lynn last summer.

It said a new public space on the site would act as "a catalyst for future development of the riverfront".

One posted on the council's planning portal: "Whilst the land needs to be developed I disagree strongly with this application as I believe the area would attract undesirable........
