Officials carp over shelter built to protect fish in garden pond
West Norfolk Council has turned down a retrospective application for the brick and timber canopy in a garden at Clenchwarton, near King's Lynn.
An officer's report said it was "significantly prominent and intrusive feature in the street scene", which had a "negative and harmful impact" on the surrounding area.
It added while the fish pond was "deemed acceptable", the structure covering it was not unless its height was reduced from 3.7 to 2.5m.
