Officials blame DROUGHT as moat around historic hall runs dry
Barely a puddle remains of the picturesque water feature which surrounds the 15th century Oxburgh Hall, between Downham Market and Swaffham.
The National Trust, which owns the spectacular property and its grounds said lack of rain had impacted its feeder stream.

"The water level in the moat surrounding Oxburgh Hall is unusually low and we are monitoring the situation closely," a spokesman for the NT said.
"The moat is fed directly from the River Gadder, which, owing to the prolonged hot dry summer, isn't flowing as freely as we would normally expect to see."........
