Rupert Lowe, MP for Great Yarmouth, took to social media to ask his constituents if they would turn out to show support for his position on ruling out migrants being hosted in the area.

Mr Lowe said: “I am considering organising a protest to underline our community’s opposition to any potential housing of illegal migrants in our area.

"This would be a peaceful statement to anybody looking to force illegals into our constituency.

"They are not welcome and will be met with peaceful and lawful resistance at every turn.........
