The future use of Hales Lodge care home in Winterton was raised at a meeting of the coastal village's parish council by a concerned member of the public.

The meeting heard councillors say they were aware of several rumours "circling" in the village about the site being used to house asylum seekers.

The member of the public was advised that the parish was aware that "several rumours were circling" in the village, and that the council "did not know who had purchased the site" or "what their intentions were".
