Man forced to remove 'overbearing' structure he built to protect pride and joy
Keith Thomas, who owns a boathouse on the northwest riverbank in Potter Heigham along a stretch of the River Thurne, has lost an appeal to keep the 3.3 metre tall covering put up at the private mooring.
The outcome of the legal debacle means the structure has to be taken down, following a decision by a Planning Inspectorate official.
The planning wrangle began in December last year when he applied to the Broads Authority for retrospective planning permission for the timber-framed cover with a powder-coated aluminium roof.
