But the bucolic Great Yarmouth Cemetery has been spoilt by the presence of a so-called "toilet tree", with human excrement and toilet paper strewn beneath it.

A pop-up tent, which has since been removed, had been wedged between the tree's trunks in the Jewish Cemetery, providing shelter for those using it as an improvised lavatory.

Great Yarmouth Borough Council, which is responsible for managing the cemetery, says that the tent was "unoccupied" and has now been removed - but the pieces of faeces have not.
