Cambridgeshire hospital charity chosen as awards' Charity of the Year
The charity was chosen by Petans in Norwich, which has charitable status itself and therefore has a deep understanding of the importance of social responsibility.
Petans was established in 1975. Its original objective was to support the petroleum industry with its training needs, but today it welcomes and trains delegates from all areas of the energy sector and beyond, including local authority fire and rescue services, nuclear power stations, MOD, and industrial fire teams.
“Petans was established 50 years ago to support the safety of those working in the offshore sector,” said Andie Richards-Marshall, business manager at Petans.
“In the 1970s it was an emerging industry. As it has evolved, we are seeing the growth of renewables.
“Petans has developed not only our training offer to support this but also several of our own practices to create a sustainable business which is more friendly on the environment.
