Norfolk 'dog listener' shares her top 3 tips on how to communicate with your pooch
Lucy Parkes, who lives in Weston Longville, is Norfolk’s only qualified "dog listener".
Through her business, Dogs in Translation, she works with owners across the region using a gentle, leadership-based method inspired by the teachings of Jan Fennell.
The approach, which she describes as “learning how to live with a dog,” helps people better understand canine communication and present themselves as calm, consistent leaders.
It is something Ms Parkes believes many dogs are desperately waiting for.
She said: “Dogs have a language.
"If you can learn how to speak it, you can reassure them that all is well, that you’re in charge, and then they can relax.”
