Gates locked at historic burial ground after vandalism

The damage to the Quaker burial ground, off Mundesley Road in North Walsham, is believed to have happened between July 15 and 20.

On at least two occasions, bricks were removed from the historic walls and used to build a campfire and a makeshift shelter.

A wooden memorial plaque from a recent bereavement was also damaged by the fire.

The site, still used by members of North Walsham Quaker Meeting, is normally open to the public for quiet reflection.
