Controversial battery farm planned at former RAF site
Connected Energy, partly based in Hethel near Wymondham, wants to install up to 19 battery storage containers on part of the old RAF Coltishall runway at Scottow Enterprise Park.
The project aims to determine whether second-life electric vehicle (EV) batteries can be utilised in commercial utility-sized battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Connected Energy say that as the number of electric vehicles on the roads increases, the more used batteries there will be, and by extracting the remaining energy, they "double their working lives".
