'Norfolk's Little Gem' museum fears closure unless more volunteers step forward

Housed in a tiny Grade II-listed building from 1833, Stalham Firehouse Museum is one of the oldest firehouses in the country.

Open since 2002 as a charitable trust, it showcases historic fire service items, including a horse-drawn 1881 pump that once served Colman’s mustard works in Norwich.

This summer, guests have come from as far away as Australia, Spain and America, while local schoolchildren visit each year during lessons on the Great Fire of London.........
