One lie changed everything

This is regarding the story “One lie changed everything” by Muhammad Anas Khan (YW, May 3rd). The story moved me deeply because, as children, we often lie to our parents, usually for trivial wishes or demands. When our parents fulfil them, we feel as if we have successfully fooled them. But this is an act of deception. It is wrong and only leads to pain for everyone involved.

We must always tell the truth, because it is the right thing to do and our parents deserve that. No matter how badly we want something, honesty gives us the confidence that whatever we receive is through truthful means. I hope we all........
