The number-one question people ask me about Brindabella Christian College is, after all of the well-documented problems, why do parents continue to enrol their children in the school and early learning centres?

The simple answer is that they like the school.
They appreciate the dedicated teachers, the campus and the range of activities on offer. They feel their children are cared for and well-educated. The students have formed close friendships that they don't want to break up. For many, the school aligns with their Christian faith, but there are many families of different faiths that attend the Lyneham and Charnwood campuses.
Until now, parents have been able to ignore the actions of the board and focus on the good aspects of the school.
The initial news that the school is facing wind-up action and subsequently entered voluntary administration has been a rude awakening to the seriousness of the situation.
This crisis has been brewing for many years. The Canberra Times has reported for about a decade on the various ways the school board has disregarded rules and regulations, from planning laws to basic financial reporting requirements.
