We overindulged at a cosy pub with the biggest cake we’ve ever seen

There's only one thing better than a slice of cake - a huge slice of cake. And after a week of work, that's exactly what I decidede to treat myself to. The Mulberry Tree, in Hampton, Peterborough is a great spot for getting a big slice of cake, and has been a family favourite for my parents and I since it opened its doors in 2014.

We have always enjoyed its extensive menu, which has something for each of us and all at reasonable prices. The pub itself also has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, especially with its background music which happens to include some of my favourite songs.

The pub is locally known for its larger than average portions, especially its Sunday carveries. It's also known for its large cake slices.

In all honesty, I have only ever tried some of the Mulberry’s cake once, and that time I had to share it as it was too much to handle on my own, especially after a full carvery. However, as a weekend treat, my boyfriend Harry and I headed there for some cake.

Luckily for us, we went on a Saturday, so the pub wasn’t brimming with the Sunday carvery crowd. We were seated in a cosy corner right next to........
