Cambridgeshire Live readers are voicing concern after the River Cam was declared to be in 'crisis' due to the worsening condition of locks throughout Cambridge, sparking fears over how the vital infrastructure will be maintained.

Cambridge City councillors this month passed a motion recognising the issue and promising to work with the Conservators of the River Cam. The Conservators are the statutory navigation authority responsible for the stretch from Bottisham Lock in Waterbeach to the Mill Pond in Cambridge.
