Insults at LLA rally as attendants claim they were promised money to show up
La Libertad Avanza’s (LLA) closing campaign rally ahead of Sunday’s Buenos Aires City elections ended in a ruckus when a group of people claimed in the presence of rolling TV cameras that they had been promised payment for attending, but did not receive the full sum.
No proof of their claims has emerged, and LLA has denied the accusations.
President Javier Milei and his spokesman and lead city electoral candidate, Manuel Adorni, spearheaded the event on Wednesday evening in a park in Recoleta, where several thousand gathered to support them.
Presidency Secretary Karina Milei and several government ministers also turned out to show their support for Adorni, who highlighted the national government’s achievements but said little about the capital city specifically.
