Elon Musk claims ‘major’ US democrats are named in Epstein documents
The scandal surrounding Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, continues to cast long shadows over some of the most powerful figures in the United States-and now Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of X (formerly Twitter), has reignited controversy by claiming that “major” US Democrats and their donors appear in the Epstein documents.
Jeffrey Epstein’s arrest in July 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges sent shockwaves through political and social elites worldwide. Epstein was accused of running a vast sex trafficking ring, primarily involving underage girls, with allegations that some abuse occurred on his private Caribbean island, Little St. James, in the US Virgin Islands.
His subsequent death in jail, officially ruled a suicide, left many questions unanswered and fueled widespread speculation of a possible cover-up. Epstein’s connections extended deeply into realms of politics, finance, royalty, and media, making the case one of the most high-profile sex trafficking scandals in modern history.
Central to ongoing public interest is a cache of sealed legal documents often referred to as the “Epstein files.” These documents reportedly contain evidence and references to many high-profile individuals. However, authorities have consistently maintained that simply appearing in the files does not imply guilt or wrongdoing.
On August 1, 2025, Bloomberg published a report detailing the FBI’s ongoing review of Epstein-related files. According to the report, the files include references to US President Donald Trump and numerous other prominent figures. The FBI stressed that any name appearing in the documents “is not evidence of a crime or even a suggestion of wrongdoing.”
