Searching for a phantom ring tone
If you see a tall, skinny guy in El Dorado walking down the street looking at his cellphone, it ain't me. Yes, I have a cellphone. Who doesn't? But cellphones everywhere made me wonder about the competence of our educators who have just banned cellphones in classrooms. My God, folks: Why did it take so long? And who is surprised that the students are doing better?
The world has gone crazy over cellphones; folks of all ages are using them. They would probably go crazy if they couldn't check their phones every 15 minutes.
Just a month or so back I succumbed to my daughter Lara's insistence that I get a new phone, because my old phone lacked a whole lot of stuff that I would never use. So we traded it in for a new model, which I hated immediately. It's like carrying a brick in your pocket. Of course, the new phone can do everything but deal with bodily functions, but I understand there's an app for that (probably).
