Support public health
I have read with alarm, and now horror, of events at the CDC. Vaccines have saved millions of lives. Arkansas physicians know of diseases from the past that no longer occur, no longer kill. As the system that develops and administers vaccines is destroyed, deaths will follow. First the most vulnerable, the elderly and the very young.
I challenge health professional Dr. John Boozman, U.S. senator, to appear on the steps of the UAMS College of Public Health that bears his brother's name. I challenge him to speak in support of the CDC, public health, and immunizations.

Article misfocused
On Aug. 25, President Donald Trump signed a number of executive orders. On Aug. 26, the top headline in this paper was "Cashless bail is latest target of president," with a sub-headline of "Another executive order takes aim at flag-burners." The article goes on at length about these two orders, including a second article on elected officials' reactions. The last section of the article on executive orders has a sub-headline of "Orders Regarding D.C." However, that section of the article made no mention of the executive order titled "Additional Measures to........
