Eyes of the beholder
An Aug. 24 letter excoriated Eliza Hussman Gaines. the ADG, and the mainstream media in general for biased reporting. The writer cited the headline after the Trump/Putin summit, "Trump, Putin fail to end war," as an example of blatant bias (as perceived by him).
First, most folks recognize that bias, like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder. Second, I doubt the headline would have read that way but for Donald Trump's past bragging about his prowess as a deal-maker, how he could end the Russia/Ukraine war on day one. and how he would get tough on Vladimir Putin. Furthermore, he has opined that he should receive a Nobel Peace Prize for his prowess at deal-making in the international arena. Yet, by most accounts, he has been played by Putin, who has no intention of ending the war unless it is on his terms.
Then, to top it all off, the writer asserted that the corrupt news media and "reprobate Democrats" are responsible for Trump being elected in the first place. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around that one.
Admittedly, I suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome; it's hard not to when Trump himself is so deranged.

If we are to reduce our growing national debt, we have two options: 1. Reduce costs and/or 2. Raise taxes.
Which services should we drop or reorganize?........
