As a member of the Musqueam community, I’d like to share my views on the recent court ­decision regarding fishing and land here on the Fraser River.

The trouble with using ­colonial institutions such as the courts to resolve ­Indigenous issues is that they don’t ­understand Indigenous legal ­systems in the first place.

So, they need it to be explained to them for them to understand enough to make a decision.
