To all felons: Value your convictions

An open letter to all Fulton County convicted felons from your former probation officer.

I want to apologize for not recognizing that your indictments and felony convictions were actually great job recommendations, and I should’ve handled them as such when I wrote your pre-sentence investigation.

I know that it has been a struggle for you since your conviction because you have to note on job applications that you’re a felon and you need a certificate of relief in order to exercise some of your rights.

I do apologize, and I hope that others now recognize that lying, cheating, stealing, ignoring subpoenas, sexual abuse, tax evasion, obstruction of justice, falsifying business records and insurrection can all lead to a great job.
