HIGH NOTES: Kids challenge for heart defects, autism grants, funds for teachers
In Mayfield, Mayfield school students are participating in the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart challenge to learn about the heart, cardiovascular disease, good heart-healthy practices and to raise money for children suffering from heart disease. Now in its 16th year of participation, Mayfield students have raised nearly $232,000 and hope to reach the $250,000 mark. As of Thursday, students had collected over $14,700 toward a goal of $18,101. The Kids Heart Challenge main event in Mayfield will take place on Friday, Feb. 7, during physical education classes and feature fun activities like bounce houses and face painting.
