EDITORIAL: Strong case needed to change form of government
Improving democratic representation, efficiency and transparency and saving taxpayers money are worthy goals for elected officials and citizens at any level of government.
But achieving that by changing the entire form of government to another governmental structure is neither easy to convince people nor guaranteed to be successful. Just ask proponents of government change in Saratoga Springs, who’ve been trying unsuccessfully for years to replace their unique commission form of government.
